April is Autism Awareness Month. According to the expert, it is estimated that one in every 110 children is diagnosed with autism. Initially when a child is diagnosed with autism, it can be very shocking for a parent, and each parent may experience a range of emotions from shock, to anger, and even denial. That is completely normal. Life will be different than expected with a special needs child, but it will also be rewarding. Itβs important that each parent deals with their emotions so they can move on and help their child. Celebrate small victories, and remember that each child is different. Never compare them to anyone else. Love them for who they are, and what they can do. Support them through all of their efforts, and always be patient.
For all of April, special needs evaluation lessons are half-price ($20). Call 1 800 99 SHARK or visit www.actionkarate.net to schedule yours.
